What is Transformational Breath?

Transformational Breath® (TB) is a conscious, self-empowering modality utilizing breath, movement, and sound that transforms one’s life on the physical, mental, emotional, and consciousness levels. It is a dynamic and powerful technique utilizing a high-vibrational frequency created by a specific breathing pattern. It accesses our electromagnetic field at the cellular level and creates powerful healing and transformation. 

 

Transformational Breath works on Three Levels: Physical, Mental/Emotional, Spiritual

Reiki

What Is Reiki?

Reiki is a spiritual healing art and a type of Biofield Energy Therapy.

The predominant form of Reiki practiced worldwide today, also known as Usui Reiki, was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 20th century.

Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is Japanese for “Universal Life Energy.” “Rei” means universal, omnipresent. Esoterically, it means spiritual consciousness, omniscient wisdom from the Divine. “Ki” is the non-physical vitality that gives life to all things. Ki energy can be activated for the purpose of healing.

Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing system in which the trained Reiki practitioner uses the Usui systems of Reiki to balance the Universal Life Energy within an individual. This energy therapy is based on the principle that everything in existence consists of light and energy that creates, flows, and sustains all of Life.

We must realize and remember that we are energy. Science is now catching up with what ancient cultures and systems have known for centuries… Life is not solid, everything is made up of energy. Our bodies are made up of energy. Our minds are energy, our emotions are energy. Even if we can’t see it, like our breath, the energy is there. We want coherency of energy in our system, so that the mind, the emotions, and the body are all working together in a healthy unison. This is what creates flow. The Universal Life Force is our fundamental natural state that helps facilitate our direct experience of wholeness and well-being.

Reiki is neither positive nor negative. It is in fact, the highest and most profound vibration of Life. Divine in origin, it allows us to become one with all living things alive in our world. WE ARE NATURE. Re-establishing our awareness and connection to our true nature is the most fundamental and important element when it comes to being fully healthy, happy, and fulfilled. There are many gifts that our modern way of living brings. However, we must remain balanced and deeply rooted in our true nature, and the natural world, otherwise we become domesticated, conditioned, and out of sync with our natural wisdom, peace, and harmony.

Our nervous systems are already wired with the circuitry for nature connection. This is our natural state. We depend on nature not only for our physical survival. We also need nature to show us the way home, the way out of the prison of our own minds. We got lost in doing, thinking, remembering, anticipating - lost in a maze of complexity and a world of problems.

We have forgotten what rocks, plants, and animals still know. We have forgotten how to be - to be still, to be ourselves, to be where life is: Here and Now.

Whenever you bring your attention to anything natural, anything that has come into existence without human intervention, you step out of the prison of conceptualized thinking and, to some extent, participate in the state of connectedness with Being in which everything natural still exists.

To bring your attention to a stone, a tree, or an animal does not mean to think about it, but simply to perceive it, to hold it in your awareness. Something of its essence then transmits itself to you. You can sense how still it is, and in doing so the same stillness arises within you. You sense how deeply it rests in Being - completely at one with what it is and where it is. In realizing this, you too come to a place of deep rest within yourself.

When walking or resting in nature, honor that realm by being there fully. Be still. Look. Listen. See how every animal and every plant is completely itself. Unlike humans, they have not split themselves in two. They do not live through mental images of themselves, so they do not need to be concerned with trying to protect and enhance those images. The deer is itself. The daffodil is itself.

All things in nature are not only one with themselves but also one with the totality. They haven't removed themselves from the fabric of the whole by claiming a separate existence: "me" and the rest of the universe.

The contemplation of nature can free you of that "me," the great troublemaker.

Meditation

Meditation is the art of mastering the mind. The way we perceive the world around us completely depends upon our mind. In our search for happiness, we essentially have two options - modify the entire world so that everything turns out exactly the way we want it or modify our mind so that we are able to be happy, content and peaceful, regardless of what happens in the external world. The former is obviously impossible. We have very little control over our external world. The only hope for happiness lies in controlling the inner world. Meditation is a key element in this process.

Meditation is an invitation to reunite with our true nature, the vast, mysterious experience of presence. It helps connect us more deeply with ourselves, others, and life around us. It enhances and supports everything in our experience. If we are too busy thinking then we may miss out on certain things that we really want in life, missing cues in some of our relationships because we are so in our own head and can’t see what is happening.

Happiness naturally arises when the mind neither pushes nor pulls. The inner fear that mental chatter stirs up can disappear with meditation. Regardless of our level of rumination, meditation can dissolve the inner critic that makes us feel afraid and feel like we aren’t enough. When we meditate, we change the relationship with that voice. We stop taking it seriously, it quiets down, and can even dissolve. We can then feel free, relaxed, present, and alive.

Meditation trains us to work skillfully with obstacles, thoughts, and emotional patterns that interfere with being able to rest at peace with full presence, wherever we are. Whether you are an experienced meditator or wanting to begin a practice, the key is finding a meditation that is suitable for you. Not all meditation techniques are created equal for everyone. There are ways to experiment and find out what type of meditation works specifically for you.

Nicole has been studying, practicing and teaching various styles of meditation for over 15 years and can support you in establishing a successful meditation practice. She will work with you to explore what meditation style feels best for you, and then help to enhance your experience so you receive the greatest benefit. The meditation style may be as simple as focusing on your own breath, or exploring more advanced styles. Regardless of the path you choose, meditation can be effortless, enjoyable, and expanding. Laughter is the best medicine.

Laughter is an essential aspect of our true nature… a natural element of Life.

LAUGHTER is the universal language. It is the medicine we humans need in our world… its free, its innate, and it doesn’t discriminate!

Benefits of Laughter Yoga:

Did you know that… Laughter Yoga has been shown to elevate mood, diminish pain, regulate our nervous system, improve sleep, and activate our immune system? It can decrease stress hormones, increase immune cells and infection fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.

Laughter Yoga (LY) increases blood flow and oxygenation of the cells and organs. It moves the lymphatic system, supports digestion, elimination, and detoxification overall. Laughing provides a natural workout for a number of muscle groups and massages all the internal organs and tissues in the body. Supports aerobic health, circulation, blood pressure, and hormonal health.

Laughter Yoga significantly aides in stress relief and mental and emotional health. It triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being. Studies also show that laughter can help us release emotions and generate more elevated emotions and states, such as compassion, joy, forgiveness, and freedom of being.  Keeps us grounded and alert. What is Laughter Yoga?

Laughter Yoga (LY) is something we can all easily do and enjoy.

It is a unique concept where anyone can laugh for no reason. We can laugh without relying on humor, jokes, or comedy. This is one of the most important aspects of LY because there are so many “conditions” out there, and we often put conditions on ourselves and our well-being. This is an opportunity to learn to be unconditional, and not be as dependent on outside circumstances to affect how we feel. We can reclaim our freedom of being so that we can create life rather than react to it. We can CHOOSE to laugh. It’s so liberating and empowering!

Laughter Yoga is different because we initiate laughter as a physical exercise. We can do it in a group or on our own, and it really gives us permission to bring out our childlike playfulness, which is so healing and enlivening. And so often it becomes real and contagious laughter!

The reason why we call it “Laughter Yoga” is because it combines laughter exercises with deep breathing, sound, and movement. This brings more oxygen to the body and the brain, which helps us feel healthier and more energetic.

The fascinating thing is that scientific studies show that the body cannot differentiate between real laughter and voluntary laughter if done with willingness. We get the same health benefits, whether laughter is real or simulated.


How did LY get started?

A medical doctor named Madan Kataria from India was inspired to explore the many healing benefits of laughter. He began in 1995 with only 5 people in a Mumbai park. Now, there are 1000’s of social Laughter Clubs in more than 100 countries.

 

Why do we want to do LY?

Many people ask why they would need to make themselves laugh, when they can just watch a funny movie or comedy. The answer is that there is an important distinction here. There are 3 reasons in order to be able to receive the maximum health benefits of laughter.

 

1.   LAUGHTER SHOULD BE SUSTAINED: Any laughter or upliftment is helpful. Yet, in order to receive the scientifically proven health benefits of laughter, we need to laugh for at least 10-15 minutes. Natural laughter hardly lasts for 4-5 seconds at a time, it is not sufficient to bring about significant physiological and psychological changes in the body. Since LY is done as an exercise, we can prolong our laughter as much as we want.

2.   LAUGHTER SHOULD BE DEEP: To reap the health benefits of laughter, we want it to be hearty and deep, coming from the diaphragm. It should be a belly laugh. Laughter is basically an extended exhale, which in themselves, longer exhales are proven to activate our parasympathetic response, the rest and digest portion of our nervous system. We relax deeply on an extended exhale. Also, we detoxify at least 75% of toxins through our breath.

3.   LAUGHTER SHOULD BE UNCONDITIONAL: In life, we don’t necessarily know when a natural laugh will come through, and we don’t want it to be dependent on any outside reasons or conditions. Because unfortunately, given the state of the world, there aren’t a lot of reasons out there to make us laugh. This makes it all the more important to take our power back, and commit to our well-being and joy regardless of circumstances. We can’t leave that to chance. Laughter is far to essential to our health, and why taking the time to give yourself this gift of laughter is so important.
